I had this cute piece of fabric and I had big plans for it. I also had to face the facts and tell to myself that I am not as awesome in sewing to make these big plans come true yet. So I tried to find other ways to incorporate it into my little nest and came up with an idea to spice up my plain bathroom with it.
When we moved in I bought some very cheap shower curtains for a shop similar to dollarstore. I think they cost about 1,50 euros each and were just as thin as cheap. Now since I had one of those left I thought it would be perfect to use for this DIY.
Down here you can see how it looks on both sides.
I think it is pretty good for a transitional shower curtain – well this is what I like to think as I’m waiting anxiously for us to have our own place.
What have you done to spice up your place lately?Hope this Monday will not be too blue for you!
I stumbled up on this page the other day 100happydays.com and it was exactly what I needed. A reminder that every day has something to offer and that you just need to crab it and hold onto the feeling and why not make a memory of it as you go along. So a week ago, on the very day I found the page, I started my own 100 happy days. This is what I have been loving the 6 days.
Day 1 – So happy not to have to worry about dinner. I’m not an awesome cook and rearly even enjoy the cooking specially during the week when I’m so tired after a long day at work. So going for fast food sometimes feels like heaven.
Day 2 – I love to bundle up in my bed in the evenings ti browse some blogs or another Pretty Little Liars episode. A cup of tea maybe a candle and definitely comfy PJs.
Day 3 – A goofy T-shirt. Loving to get new stock in the store. I always get carried away with kids clothing and wonder to whom I could get the coolest items from the rails. This one just made me smile.
Day 4 – Developing photos. Maybe I’m oldschool like that but I love the feeling of holding pictures in my hand and I also want these memories to be there for the future generations :).
Day 5 – Happy to be home. Although I spend so much time at work I could call it my second home, coming back in the evening, tired as hell – the feeling you get when you walk in the door. My little nest, my hideaway.
Day 6 – Valentine’s Date – On the day of love me and D had a lovely dinner in a cute restaurant with a beautiful view and delicious food. Here is the dessert part of the evening
So this is my week in a nutshell. Are you following 100happydays.com? I would love to see what is keeping you happy throughout your days.
Hope you are having an amazing weekend!
Don’t get the wrong idea. Office as in Miss S’s Office. See once upon a time I was dreaming about working from home, so that home would be my office, hence the title.
Now that I finally got the main piece for my living room – the couch, I have so many ideas to go further from here. I took a picture of this nook that has kind of grown on me lately.
Hi everybody! I wanted to share this DIY project with you today. This is for all of you who are trying to make the best out of your rental places without investing too much money in it.
I hated my cabinets from the moment I first layed my eyes on them. They were old and broken and looked tired overall. Painting them over wouldn’t probably helped me out there. Also my kichen is very dark so I wanted something to reflect the light a little better. The outcome isn’t perfect and I need to do some bits over, but I was really exited to share the idea with you right away. Cuz it’s so simple and fun.
Also forgive me for the pictures are odd looking dark and low quality. I took the pictures during day time, I tried with and without the flash, with and without the lamp. Nothing really worked well enough, but here they are anyway.
I printed out a bunch of recepies, attached them onto the cabinet doors with a glue stick and covered them all over with a clear sticker, the one you can use to cover up your notebooks and books for school usually. Can somebody help me out and say how do you really call this thing in english? Do you have a special word? I think it cost me about 4 euros in total and had some extra even left over.
If you have been keeping an eye on my blog before, you probably know that spending isn’t on my list right now, far from it. But sometimes things don’t quite go your way and that’s exactly what happened to me. I had a dilemma between getting our own place a bit sooner or living like a normal couple with some real furniture right now. I picked the last from these two.
Last year, when we moved to this flat we didn’t have much. There was almost no furniture also in the flat so my sister gave us a tiny sofa for our living room. Not very comfy and surely too small for a room like that. We managed somehow living with it. Until I decided that enough was enough and gave it away to somebody who found a better use for it. This happened around christmas time. After that I just used the mattress from a single bed that the owner left in. I was thinking to make like a pallet couch kind a thing until I found out that we’re going to have to move out soon. So we put the mattress back on a bed frame just so it would be little bit higher. It looked terrible, I didn’t want to stay in the room even and it’s for sure not comfy but I figured it was only temporary.
Suddenly out of the blue it turned out, that we can stay in our flat for another year at least. And all I can think about is that it can’t stay like this for any longer. I mean, could you live without a sofa or a couch? So I found this lovely couch for us. We are gonna go for a darker colour. Can’t wait to have a living room that looks like one at last.

First of all put this song on! I’ve been listening to it for about couplse of hour already, it’s so cute! Jayesslee – Gangnam Style
So today I wanted to share with you a place to keep my ideas besides pinterest. As much as I like keeping ideas and pictures and stuff in my computer there is still a part of me that likes to be able to hold and watch things for real instead of being so virtual all the time. I think there’s something to do with me growing up before the time everything turned to be only about phones and computers and other devices.
So here it is my oldschool kind of notebook. And this is how it usually goes down..
Here is an example of one of the page from the notebook, just cut outs from magazine and little hints on the sides.
That’s how it looks when I’m on the roll 🙂
My cute notebook – pretty and bright.
Just some supplies including an old Ikea catalogue.
So lately I’ve been dreaming big and looking for houses and flats available in our town. Not for buying, cuz most of them are way out of our prize range. But dreaming is one of my favourite things to do :). And who wouldn’t like to look at pretty pictures or things..
So this time I concentrated on natural light. I would love love love to have a place with huge windows and alot of sunlight. So here are some of my finds.

So here’s the first post about how we try to spend less, to finally live the dream we have. I know there’s alot of tips out there and many ways to save, but the truth is you can’t start doing all the 100 great ideas at once. Well, at least I can’t. This will just get me depressed when I fail at one point and make me stop the whole run. So that being said, we well be taking baby steps. Easy and doable ways getting us closer to our dream home.
1. Free public transportation.
Starting from this year people living in Tallinn are able to use public trasport for free. This works awesome for us since we don’t have a car ( unbelievable and almost impossible – i know! ).
To get to ride for free you have to be registrated in this city. Funny part was that D who is a forigner, was written in Tallinn, but I was written into my hometown. I’ve been living in Tallinn for couple of years but never had the urge to registrate myself here. Now it was the only way to go. It took me about two pages to fill and a minute or two too drop it off to city council.
2. Stop eating out!
We are the kind of couple who on our days off together (never a full weekend or smth by the way) go to eat in a new restaurant or after a movie feel so hungry that can’t wait until we get home and be able to make something but rather hop in somewhere closer and grab a bite. We don’t usually go out for parties and stuff much so this is where our spending happens the most!
It often happens that a simple meal go’s on to some drinks and maybe end up with a dessert that you didn’t really need. Not to mention that nearby places usually have quite crispy prices.
3. Planning the meals.
This is one of the things I keep saying I’ll start doing but never really get to it, actually I did once and it was amazing and I should do it all the time – seriously, I know what I’m talking about. It takes a little bit of effort to figure the menu for a week (or when you are awesome maybe even a month or so) but it goes a long way. Make a list based on your menu and you are good to go. It takes so much pressure off, cuz you’ll know what you will be cooking you’ll know that you have all the stuff you need to make it and you won’t waste food. I realized the other day we throw out lot’s of food – that’s no good!
4. Making customer cards / bonus cards / members card etc.
Where we live coupons pretty much don’t exist, but to get discounts and offers it’s good to be a member at different shops and places. Some let you earn bonuses and use them later on, some give you discount straight away, some have special offers for you. As for now I still have two cards to make. Usually you just need to fill a form and maybe pay 1 or 2 euros for it, often it is for free.
5. Selling stuff you don’t use/need anymore
Great way to make a little extra for things that are hanging around the house but not being used. It could be clothes, electronics, whatever you find someone else would need more.
