Pimp my rain boots

Since the spring is decided not to come to our town and I am tired of wearing my winter boots I altered my rain boots while I felt I will be using them for couple of weeks to come.

To begin with I had these cheap leopard print wellies. I didn’t think of them much but I had them around just in case.

I used a hole buncher to have the holes for the ribbon to go through but since the ribbon was much wider than the hole I made two holes under one another to give the ribbon more space.

Denim Shirt Blingover

If this is not your first time around this little place of mine you already know that I love me some makeovers. I love the feeling of making something pretty or cool out of tired things, to give them new life. It excites me like nothing else.
My escape from daily worries. That was what happened today. I was feeling ill all day long but still decided to make something when I got home. I found a pair of old broken earrings and one of my favorite denim shirts and it seemed to be a great idea. So I simply sewed the earrings onto the collar to create a little spark. I am thinking maybe to cover the earrings with transparent nail polish to keep its color when washing. I feel really happy with the outcome! What do you think?Denim Shirt

Hope something has inspired you today!

Personalized Shower Curtain

I had this cute piece of fabric and I had big plans for it. I also had to face the facts and tell to myself that I am not as awesome in sewing to make these big plans come true yet. So I tried to find other ways to incorporate it into my little nest and came up with an idea to spice up my plain bathroom with it.

When we moved in I bought some very cheap shower curtains for a shop similar to dollarstore. I think they cost about 1,50 euros each and were just as thin as cheap. Now since I had one of those left I thought it would be perfect to use for this DIY.

So I sew the fabric onto the shower curtain. As I said before my sewing is quite crap right now (work in process) so it is far from perfect, but the bathroom looks still so much better.

Down here you can see how it looks on both sides.

I think it is pretty good for a transitional shower curtain – well this is what I like to think as I’m waiting anxiously for us to have our own place.

What have you done to spice up your place lately?Hope this Monday will not be too blue for you!

Button Tin

In the midst of a cleaning marathon I decided to amuse myself with a tiny craft idea.
I covered this old chai latte tin with some advertisements from a really old Grazia magazine.
I attached it with some glue at first and finished it of with transparent sticker to give it this glossy and durable top coat.

Purse Makeover

SAMSUNG CSC Hello all you beautiful people! Today afternoon I decided to make myself a new party clutch. I have struggled recently having something small to where I can put my phone, cards and a lip gloss and go.
For this project I used an old pure I hadn’t really ever used and an old broken brooch.

First I cleaned the purse with a nail polish remover.

Then I inserted the the pin of the brooch underneath the original badge and attach the other side of the brooch with a hot glue gun (how in the world did I manage to live so far without a hot glue gun?!?).

And then I waited until it was cooled down.

And now I am looking for an event to wear it to!

Take care guys!

I made: Rental kitchen cabinets makeover

Hi everybody! I wanted to share this DIY project with you today. This is for all of you who are trying to make the best out of your rental places without investing too much money in it.
I hated my cabinets from the moment I first layed my eyes on them. They were old and broken and looked tired overall. Painting them over wouldn’t probably helped me out there. Also my kichen is very dark so I wanted something to reflect the light a little better. The outcome isn’t perfect and I need to do some bits over, but I was really exited to share the idea with you right away. Cuz it’s so simple and fun.
Also forgive me for the pictures are odd looking dark and low quality. I took the pictures during day time, I tried with and without the flash, with and without the lamp. Nothing really worked well enough, but here they are anyway.

I printed out a bunch of recepies, attached them onto the cabinet doors with a glue stick and covered them all over with a clear sticker, the one you can use to cover up your notebooks and books for school usually. Can somebody help me out and say how do you really call this thing in english? Do you have a special word? I think it cost me about 4 euros in total and had some extra even left over.

Dinner Table Makeover

I know I pretty much promised a fringe project by Monday and there’s still no sign of it. But I have a perfectly good reason for that, I took on a much much bigger project. It was pretty hard work and it became a definition to me – if I can do this, I can do anything. So I guess I can do anything now :D.

So this is what I started out with. Years ago we bought a wooden table with my dad. I had some kind of a black phase back then, so I asked my dad to paint it. That phase is long gone now and this table was just making our room tiny and dark.
So I started sanding, and went on sanding, feeling, no more like hearing how my muscles grow. This went on for almost three days.

I was so happy with the result. Yay all the way!

And this is what we have now. I can’t stop looking at it and smiling all the time. Room is ten times brighter!
